The smoke chamber is the portion of the fireplace between the firebox and the flue. It is an inverted funnel shape and serves the purpose of directing flue gases from the fireplace to the inside of the flue. Smoke chambers should be smooth, free of gaps, and meet dimensional requirements per the I.R.C. For more information about parging and smoke chambers, consult our info document posted below.
